In
1965, Yong Chee Leong began the business of making drafting boards and stands.
A friend of his helped coined the name Artwright by combining the word 'ART'
for being in the drawing business, and 'RIGHT' for doing the right thing.
'W'was added to the name because the products had to compete with imports from
England.
Founded on the
principles of good design and quality, Artwright has grown from strength to
strength, and has since evolved into computer furniture, and system furniture,
and today into the complete workplace solutions. Our core values have made
Artwright to be one leading selections of choice for quality and design.

In 1985, Yong
Yoke Keong, Son of Yong Chee Leong join the business and introduce a range of well-designed and high quality small
computer tables to complement the desktop computers made by IBM and
Apple. These products were made of honeycomb core and were extremely
well accepted worldwide.

In 1987, Yong
Yoke Keong founded the Artwright Group. Between then and 2008, YYK introduced
several innovative office systems, including MXi and MXi2. These systems were
designed to fulfil interior designers’ architectural visions by offering
maximum flexibility, outstanding performance, and the clean-line simplicity of
a solid panel-based system.
Later, in 2014,
the company introduced two new premium desking systems, System T1 and System
B2, which were developed to create office spaces that are more flexible,
innovative, and modern.
With
the expansion of our local and international activities, the new corporate
headquarters took shape in 2018 - the Artwright communication centre, located
right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC).
Our
communication centre is an invitation to experience the Artwright brands with
all senses. It is a spacious, central meeting point for customers, employees
and visitor. It serves as product showroom, administration centre and think
tank all in one.
The Artwright showroom is the GOLD AWARD winner for MIID REKA Design Excellence Award 2019.
